ACCUTANE ALTERNATIVES

ACCUTANE ALTERNATIVES

Accutane may be prescribed to heal acne by reducing sebum production in the skin. It can take a while to work, and repeated rounds of it may not be as effective as the first. Mood disturbances can arise and regular tests by your doctor will be essential to ensure the liver function is not being compromised.  What’s a natural alternative that does not strip the skin dry?  If there are boils or cysts, you could lightly stroke these with a trace of our big chill drops - a neat essential oil blend of cannabis flower with patchouli, geranium and may...

Scented for Success

Scented for Success

One of the greatest misconceptions about natural skincare is that if you have sensitive skin or skin with compromised barrier function that you ought to use fragrance free skincare. Avoiding fake fragrance probably makes sense. However pure essential oils can be hugely helpful or healing and skincare brands are bound to have their formulations scrutinised for safety by specialist skincare chemists and labs. Skin Deeper

Skin deeper: the Zing approach to healing problematic skin. By Emily Rose Mawson. SKINCARE IN MENOPAUSE

In menopause, the decline of collagen married with hormonal changes can wreak havoc with the skin. What starts with slightly dryer more sensitive skin can lead to loss of elasticity, wrinkles, noticeable drooping and a grey lack lustre tone. My top recommendation is to use natural skincare with a high proportion of organic ingredients that's entirely free of synthetics including preservatives that dry out and age the skin and in some studies damage the skin cells. Avoid make up where possible, cleansing with soap and (controversially) SPF skincare too unless you have particular requirements. The cleanse should not strip the...

PAIN RELIEF

PAIN RELIEF

It's probably a good 30 years since I started to use cannabis flower essential oil myself for pain relief. I'd infuse a few drops in a carrier oil and Kenny - hubby to be - would massage it into my neck and shoulders. The effect was instant - the warming and gently numbing effect relieved tension and pain in those areas so effectively. The deeply grounding scent also helped with emotional turmoil and sleep. Because I knew it was such a uniquely effective ingredient, I had to offer the wonders of this to a wider market. Fast forward to 2019...
