Accutane may be prescribed to heal acne by reducing sebum production in the skin. It can take a while to work, and repeated rounds of it may not be as effective as the first. Mood disturbances can arise and regular tests by your doctor will be essential to ensure the liver function is not being compromised.
What’s a natural alternative that does not strip the skin dry?
If there are boils or cysts, you could lightly stroke these with a trace of our big chill drops - a neat essential oil blend of cannabis flower with patchouli, geranium and may chang. After a few days the infection/inflammation is likely to have subsided.

To cleanse where acne is present, I’d suggest using a konjac sponge infused with activated charcoal. You dip the dry sponge in warm water and keep squeezing gently until the sponge is soft. Then rub gently over the affected areas. This does dry the skin somewhat so don’t over cleanse or cleanse too regularly.

Next up I’d suggest massaging a few drops of our Budding Beauty Facial Serum or The Smoothie Facial Serum + Beard Oil into the face and neck. Healthy skin is not dry - it is moisturised - and products such as these contain ingredients that are powerfully anti bacterial, anti inflammatory and anti fungal.
